Kona Kase Review

Recently I was given the opportunity, as a Sweat Pink Ambassador, to receive and review the July Kona Kase. It has taken me a little while to get my review done because I wanted to try most of the items included before writing my review.

If you haven't heard of Kona Kase - it is a monthly subscription box. There are so many different boxes like this out there and for all interests. It can be hard to choose which one would be the best fit for you to get. I have tried a few other boxes so I was excited to have the opportunity to try Kona Kase to see what it was all about and what it had to offer.

With Kona Kase you receive a box of eight awesome nutritional products each month for only $15, plus they offer multi-month discounts. You also get free shipping and can cancel your subscription at any time.

I love getting packages in the mail so the day my Kona Kase arrived I was super excited and couldn't wait to see what was included.

The first thing I saw when opening my kase was a card containing this quote-

"You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing."
- Arthur Ashe

I love quotes and positive inspirational messages so I really enjoyed this part of the kase. I will keep the card on my office bulletin board!

There was a second card that listed the following:
contents of the kase
gave a description of each item
gave the website and coupon codes for future purchase
space for grading the product (1-5)

I really liked that this information was all in one spot instead of each product having their own card that I would have to keep track of.

Once I started "digging" into my kase I was very excited to try the products included. I am hesitant to buy new products to try when I see them in the stores! I love that Kona Kase does the work of picking products from great companies for you and it gives you a chance to try products that you maybe wouldn't pick-up or try on your own.

Perky Jerky - This was the first item that was snatched up by my husband as soon as he saw it. He loves jerky and couldn't wait to try it. He really liked it and rated it a 4 on the 1-5 grading scale. After him telling me how good it was I wish I would've at least gotten a bite to try. This is an item that we would like to get again in the future.

Enjoy Life - I love trail mix and really enjoyed this nut-free mix. It was a great combination of seeds and dried fruit. I put some in my vanilla greek yogurt and ate the rest as it was- it was very good both ways. I gave this a 4 and would love to get more of it to have on hand. It would be a great snack for my boys, for traveling, and really any time!

Pro-Bar - I am just starting my half marathon training so my long runs haven't required fuel yet. I was super eager to try these chews though. I did a quick 3.5 mile run one morning before breakfast and I don't run well on an empty stomach and I didn't have enough time to let food settle so I decided to try a few of the chews as pre-run fuel. I loved the taste and texture of these chews! They kept me fueled until I was able to eat breakfast and the biggest positive - they didn't give me a side-ache or any tummy issues while running!! I tried the orange flavor and can't wait to get more of these! I gave these chews a 5.

Health Warrior - I love adding chia to my oats and yogurt so I was excited to see a chia bar included in my kase. I threw it in my bag when I was working a 12 hour shift recently. I tried it as an afternoon snack and I LOVED it! I really enjoyed the coconut but am not sure that my family would like that flavor. I am anxious to get more of these and try some of the other flavors. It was very filling and satisfied my cravings! I gave it a 5!

Caveman Cookies - this is one product that I haven't tried yet. We love cookies at our house so I can't believe that they have stuck around this long.

Garuka Bars - This was another item that I took when working 12 hour shifts one weekend. This one was used as a mid-morning snack. When you eat breakfast at 5:30 lunch seems like it is a long way away! This bar was delicious! It tasted fresh and "clean" and I loved that it was made from simple ingredients. You really could taste the difference from other more processed granola bars. I also love that part of the sales of this bar go towards gorilla conservation. This item also got a 5 from me and I can't wait to get more soon and try some of their other flavors.

Barbara Llewellyn Granola - This item was listed on my card but there wasn't any in my kase.

Body Glove Surge Gel - This is another item that I haven't tried yet. I don't typically like gels and tend to be sensitive to caffeine so Tim will probably be the one to use this once our long training runs get up there in mileage.

Overall I would have to say that I really enjoyed the mix of products that were in the kase and it is a box that I would consider subscribing to. The price is good and I like that you also get free shipping and can cancel at anytime. I really enjoyed trying products that I maybe wouldn't have found on my own!

Have you tried any of the products listed? What did you think of them?

Have you ever tried Kona Kase? What did you think?

What is your favorite "box"?

  1. I haven't ever tried boxes nor have I tried any of those products. The chews sound interesting. =)
